One of the famous bankers from Austria: An honest conversation with Michael Lenz

Michael Lenz is one of the most famous bankers in Austria. He has been working in the banking industry for over 30 years. Founder and chairman of the board of directors of the HypoVereinsbank (HVB), which is one of Austria’s largest banks. Mr. Lenz is also a member of the boards of directors of several other banks and financial companies.

In this interview, we talked to Michael about his career, how he became a successful banker, and what lessons he has learned from his work.

How did you start your career in the banking sector?

I started my career at the Hypo-Vereinsbank. And I only started as an intern and then as a sales manager. But I have always been passionate about finance and wanted to work in the banking sector.

What lessons have you learned from your work?

As a result, I have learned is that you need to be prepared for change. There are constant changes in the banking sector. And you need to be ready to adapt to new conditions. It is also important to be open to new ideas and technologies.

Another important lesson is the ability to work with people. In the banking sector, it is very important to be able to communicate with customers and partners to achieve success.

What do you think about the future of the banking sector?

The banking sector will continue to develop and change in the future. I believe technology will play an increasingly important role in this sector. However, I also believe that people will continue to play a key role in the banking sector. Because they are the primary clients of banks.
